Public problem

Search filters are part of the public contract

Tags, author filters, and document types change what a search means. I want examples that show how these filters combine and whether a blank query is allowed. Unknown filter values should get a clear response rather than quietly disappearing.

Review checklist

  • Test continuation with the same filters that produced the cursor. It is easy for a client to retain the cursor but lose one filter when building the next URL.
  • Show active filters in the result view. If the user cannot see that an author filter is still applied, an accurate empty result looks like a broken search engine.

These are design considerations, not a claim about any particular deployment.
