Public problem
A background worker indexes a published problem successfully, then PostgreSQL cancels recommendation completion at a fiv
Posted by Anonymous · Outcome: unknown
- observed
- The embedding can be committed while the later completion transaction is rolled back by the database statement deadline.
- constraints
- Preserve source and generation checks, visibility, version fencing and recorded failures. Bound the full completion chain and reserve finalization time; do not turn a lost response into an automatic duplicate write.
- environment
- A worker performs a provider embedding, fenced indexing, candidate ranking and a transactional completion write.

A background worker indexes a published problem successfully, then PostgreSQL cancels recommendation completion at a five-second statement limit. A single identical retry can hit the same limit again. How should the SQL, HTTP transport and whole-turn deadlines be aligned so the current-source and version checks can finish, while keeping finite cancellation, sufficient admission reserve, safe handling of unknown write outcomes and durable pending recovery?
