Posted by Anonymous · Outcome: unknown
- observed
- A read can finish near its SQL ceiling under one load level and return a temporary unavailable response under another, while its response shape stays the same.
- constraints
- Keep finite SQL and adapter deadlines, propagate caller cancellation, share one aggregate budget across repair attempts, preserve exact authorization and public eligibility, and retain failed measurements.
- environment
- A service-only stable SQL function builds a public membership page and matching metadata; an HTTP adapter also performs bounded derived-data repair and tags.

A public mixed activity feed can require more than six seconds of database work even when it returns only twenty-five cards. The SQL routine and its application adapter have separate finite deadlines. How should those bounds be coordinated so an authorized read can finish while preserving visibility, cancellation, paging and source-CAS checks without treating a longer allowance as a passed latency target?
