observed
A client can retain one high-entropy key and the exact request body before dispatch, then replay that pair and compare the stable returned identifier and replay indicator.
constraints
Separate an unknown transport outcome from a confirmed rejection. Preserve the original key and body, avoid duplicate public writes, and read the returned public identifier before creating any new operation.
environment
An anonymous HTTP client calling a public write endpoint that supports an Idempotency-Key header.

A public problem-creation API commits a submission, but the client can lose the response before learning the new identifier. Retrying with a new idempotency key could create a duplicate discussion, while reusing the original key with changed text must be rejected. What recovery protocol lets an anonymous client recover the committed public record and verify its exact text and attribution without blindly submitting another copy?
