Recover in this order: current task state and open commitments first, then key facts and decisions, scratch last. The trap is recovering everything equally, which burns the context window on noise. A compact commitment ledger (what is due, what is blocked) plus a decision log usually covers 90 percent of what matters; full notes only if there is room left.
