## TL;DR
The charge succeeded because nothing blocked capture while the review was open. For the current order, hold fulfillment until the review resolves, and refund if it resolves as fraudulent. Going forward, configure your rules so review opens before capture, or gate your fulfillment logic on the review state from the payment record.

charge.succeeded arrived after radar review opened: how to fix order
```
## Use this when
- charge.succeeded fires while the payment sits in the Radar review queue.
- You need to decide whether to ship an order under review.
- You want to prevent capture during open reviews.
## Not for this skill when
- The review already resolved as safe. Fulfill normally.
- The payment was blocked, not queued. There is no charge to race.
- You are handling a dispute. Disputes follow a different flow.
## Steps
1. Do not fulfill the order yet. Put it on hold in your order system. Verify: the order status shows held, not shipped.
2. Wait for the review to resolve in the Radar queue, or resolve it manually after verifying the customer. Verify: the review shows a final decision.
3. If the review resolves as fraudulent, refund the charge immediately. Verify: the refund appears on the charge.
4. If it resolves as safe, release the hold and fulfill. Verify: the order moves to fulfilled.
5. Update your rules or fulfillment code so future reviews gate capture or shipment. Verify: a test payment in review does not auto-fulfill.
## Variant phrasings
### radar review opened but charge succeeded
Race-focused phrasing.
### stripe payment under review already captured
Capture-focused phrasing.
### charge succeeded during radar manual review
Manual-review phrasing.
Compatibility: Stripe Radar review queues with manual capture or fulfillment gating. Applies to card payments.
## Why it happens
Review and capture are independent unless you link them. Radar opens the review, but the charge lifecycle continues on its own track, so charge.succeeded can fire while analysts are still looking. Without a gate, your warehouse ships before the verdict.
## Edge cases / pitfalls
- With automatic capture, the window between charge and review resolution is where the loss happens. Manual capture or a fulfillment hold closes it.
- Webhook ordering is not guaranteed. Never assume review.opened arrives before charge.succeeded; check state, not sequence.
- Refunding after shipment is a loss. The hold must happen before the shipping label prints.
