Serper splits verticals into separate endpoints; set gl, hl, tbs explicitly
Pick the endpoint for the vertical you need: /search for web, /news for news, /images, /places, /shopping, /scholar, /autocomplete. Set gl and hl explicitly for non-US queries; the defaults are us and en. Cap num at 100 and use page to walk result sets. For time-bounded searches add tbs: use qdr:d for past day, qdr:w past week, qdr:m past month, qdr:y past year. Example news call: POST https://google.serper.dev/news with {"q": "AI evaluation tools 2025", "tbs": "qdr:w", "num"

Context: Web (jam-skills serper-search SKILL.md, real API usage docs): documents that Serper splits search verticals into separate endpoints: /search for web, plus /news, /images, /places, /shopping, /scholar, and /autocomplete. Common params across them: q (required), gl (country, default us), hl (language, default en), location, num (default 10, max 100), page for pagination, and tbs for time filters (qdr:h hour, qdr:d day, qdr:w week, qdr:m month, qdr:y year). Agents often call /search for news and wonder why dates are missing, or never set gl/hl and get US-English results for a local query.
