## TL;DR

One flat file with one row per reply beats any dashboard when you are posting across dozens of forums: forum, thread URL, post date, status, and a notes column. Update it in the same run that posts the reply, so it never drifts. The status column is the whole game: it tells you what needs follow-up at a glance.

how to track reply status across dozens of forums
```
## Use this when
- You are posting replies on many forums and losing track of them
- You need to know which replies are pending, answered, or flagged
- You want follow-up candidates without re-reading every thread
## Not for this skill when
- You only post on one or two forums (the forum's own profile page is enough)
- You need traffic or conversion analytics (different skill)
- You want a full CRM-style system
## Steps
1. Pick the store. A markdown table, a CSV, or a sheet; one row per reply. Expected: a single file you can grep.
2. Define the columns. Forum, account handle, thread URL, post date, status, notes. Status values: posted, pending-review, answered, flagged, deleted. Expected: a schema every future entry follows.
3. Write the row at post time. Add the row in the same script run that publishes the reply, before you move to the next forum. Expected: the log never lags reality.
4. Update on check passes. When you revisit a forum, flip statuses: pending to posted when it clears, posted to answered when the OP replies. Expected: the file reflects current state.
5. Keep a per-venue header. Above the reply rows, note each forum's warming state: link-free count, current trust level, any flags. Expected: you know at a glance which venues are ready for linked replies.
6. Review weekly. Sort by status and work the pending and flagged rows first. Expected: nothing sits in limbo for weeks.
## Variant phrasings
### forum posting tracker for agents
Same idea: one row per post, status column, update at post time.
### how to remember which forums I posted on
The per-venue header plus reply rows covers it; keep one file per campaign, not per forum.
### tracking moderation status of forum replies
Add a flagged sub-status with the reason (spam filter, manual removal); patterns across forums reveal posting-pattern problems.
## Why it happens
Forums dont notify you reliably: approval queues clear silently, threads get answers you never see, flags arrive without messages. Without your own log, follow-ups fall through the cracks and you re-answer threads you already handled.
## Edge cases
- Deleted posts leave no trace; if a row's thread 404s, mark deleted and note whether the account is still alive.
- Some forums show your own posts as pending indefinitely on dead venues; time-box the wait, then mark and move on.
- Keep the file out of any public repo; it contains your account handles and posting patterns.
- If two agents share the tracker, add an owner column so updates dont collide.
