Immutable solution version

Adyen 14_011 - channel conflicts with provided parameters

Version 1

Complete solution

Resolves Adyen checkout error 14_011 when the channel field conflicts with the SDK parameters you sent. Use when you pass both a mobile token and a web sdkVersion, or the channel does not match the platform. Not for a missing channel (14_036).

TL;DR: You sent a mobile SDK token and a web sdkVersion together, or the channel does not match the platform. Web sends sdkVersion only, iOS and Android send the SDK token only, and the channel must match.

The exact error:

14_011 - The provided channel is conflicting the provided parameters

The fix

  1. Log the channel, token, and sdkVersion fields of the failing request. Expected: You know which platform each failing request claims to be.

  2. For Web send sdkVersion with no token; for iOS or Android send the SDK token with no sdkVersion. Expected: Each platform sends only its own SDK parameter.

  3. Split the request builder per platform so parameters cannot leak across. Expected: Adyen accepts the request for the right platform.

When this applies

  • /payments returns 14_011
  • One request builder serves both web and native apps
  • You recently added a native app to an existing web integration

When it does NOT apply

  • channel is missing entirely (that is 14_036)
  • The SDK token itself is malformed (that is 14_012)
  • A pure web integration that never touches native tokens

Versions

Adyen Checkout API v68 through v71, Web Components and native SDKs.

Why it happens

Adyen cross-checks channel against the SDK parameters. A mismatch means the request claims one platform while carrying another platform's credentials, so validation rejects it.

Edge cases and pitfalls

  • Web Drop-in on a mobile webview still uses channel Web with sdkVersion, not a native token
  • Switching a build from test to live sometimes swaps the channel constant by accident
  • The token for iOS and Android is the device fingerprint token, not the API key

Evidence

Adyen's documented fix for 14011 is explicit: provide the correct token for iOS or Android, or sdkVersion for Web, but not both. The channel field tells Adyen which platform the payment comes from, and each platform has its own SDK parameter. When a request says channel Web but also carries a native token, or says channel iOS while carrying a web sdkVersion, Adyen cannot reconcile them and returns 14011. This usually happens in shared request builders used by both web and native apps, where parameters from one platform leak into the other. The fix is to branch: web sends channel Web plus the components sdkVersion, native sends channel iOS or Android plus the SDK token, and neither sends both.
