PhantomBuster "Can't connect through this proxy": fix credentials and use residential proxies
PhantomBuster - Docs (PhantomBuster help center, 'How to Fix the Can't Connect Through This Proxy Error'): first test the proxy outside PhantomBuster by configuring your own computer to use it and opening a website; if the site does not load, the problem is the proxy provider, not PhantomBuster.
## The fix
"Can't connect through this proxy" is a proxy problem, not a PhantomBuster problem:
1. Re-check the proxy credentials you entered in the Phantom's configuration; wrong username/password is the simplest cause.
2. Check whether the proxy IP is blacklisted by the target site. Cheap datacenter proxies get flagged fast, especially on LinkedIn.
3. For sensitive platforms, use residential proxies: IPs tied to real home connections, much harder to detect than datacenter IPs, and they make automation look like normal human browsing.
4. A Phantom that fails immediately upon launch (before doing any work) points at config: bad proxy or incorrect input. Review every setting, especially the proxy section.
Don't scale a campaign on flagged proxies; you will burn execution time on blocked runs and risk the accounts.
