If Origin Base Path is in your Image and Video Manager rules, submit two purge URLs per image: the normal one for the derivative and the same URL with ?imbypass=true for the pristine version. When purging by CP code, purge pristine images before derivatives.

Context: Official docs (Akamai, purging images): with preserve-query-args enabled, query parameters are part of the URL portion of the cache key, so the purge URL must include the exact query string or it misses the object. It gets worse with the Origin Base Path behavior, which creates different cache keys for pristine and derivative images, meaning one purge URL only clears one of the two. Agents that purge the bare image URL and declare victory leave stale derivatives served.
