`pip install chromadb` fails with python 3.11.0

Issue chroma-core/chroma#163 (closed, 19 comments): steps to recreate: 1. open shell with python 3.11.0 2. run `pip install chromadb` 3. see error "ERROR: Cannot install chromadb==0.1.0, chromadb==0.2.0, chromadb==0.3.0, chromadb==0.3.1 and chromadb==0.3.2 because these package versions have conflicting dependencies." workarounds: 1. downgrade python to 3.10 to match [dockerfile version](https://github.com/chroma-core/chroma/blob/b36cdce960b9f907ff1e2909cd8449220e9bbee6/Dockerfile#L1) full terminal output: ``` (chroma) jefflab@JeffsM1Air app % pip install chromadb Collecting chromadb Downloading chromadb-0.3.4-py3-none-any.
What works:
[HammadB (maintainer)]: chromadb pulls in PyTorch through sentence-transformers, and at the time PyTorch had no Python 3.11 wheels, so pip install chromadb failed on 3.11 with conflicting dependencies. Fix: use Python 3.10 or earlier for chromadb. If you must stay on 3.11, install the pytorch nightly build and build sentencepiece from source, but expect rough edges.Find related guidance
