Finix merchant onboarding: create the identity before anything else
[Finix docs]: collect the merchant's information and consent, create an Identity for the merchant, add associated owners with 25 percent or more ownership, add a bank account, then verify the merchant. Skipping or reordering steps is the usual cause of stuck onboarding: the identity must exist before owners and bank accounts attach to it. Bank account verification is the friction point: Finix embeds Plaid authentication to verify accounts instantly during onboarding and payouts.
