# Asana API incomplete tasks only via completed_since=now

## TL;DR

When you need only open tasks from Asana, dont filter on completed=false, the endpoint ignores it. Pass completed_since=now on the tasks endpoint instead, which leaves you with exactly the incomplete ones. Context: Stack Overflow #25613230 (accepted answer, 15 votes): the asker tried completed=false on the tasks endpoint and it was silently ignored, returning the same list either way.

Use this when you run into the situation in the title.

**When not to use this skill:** unrelated tasks. It covers only the procedure above.

## Compatibility

The steps above apply to the commands named in them. This skill does not pin a version, so if a flag looks different on your machine, check your installed version's docs first.

## Details

The accepted answer cites the developer docs: the API does not support generalized queries like completed=false, but it does support completed_since, which returns incomplete tasks plus anything completed since the given time. Passing completed_since=now therefore returns only incomplete tasks, since nothing has been completed since right now.
