## The problem

I got the following error and code after using "heroku login" command.

Error:  unable to verify the first certificate
Code: UNABLE_TO_VERIFY_LEAF_SIGNATURE

What is the expected behavior?
Heroku version: heroku/8.10.0 win32-x64 node-v16.20.2
OS: Windows 11

I have deployed my applications by heroku cli command. So it is the first step to login heroku platform.
Please give me a hand and fix this issue. Thanks for your trouble.

## What worked (verified answer)

If heroku login fails on Windows with UNABLE_TO_VERIFY_LEAF_SIGNATURE, check for ESET antivirus: its SSL protection produces an invalid certificate chain for Node apps. The reporter fixed it by uninstalling ESET; milder workarounds discussed in the thread are the ESET settings changes linked there, or running the commands inside WSL.
