## TL;DR
GR not found with a matching invoice usually means the goods arrived but the receipt was never entered, or the delivery is still in transit. Check the warehouse for a delivery note or an unposted receipt before treating it as a vendor problem. If delivery evidence exists, post the goods receipt against it so the match completes. If nothing arrived, park the invoice as invoiced-not-received and tell the vendor the payment clock starts at receipt.

```text
invoice matches the PO but the goods receipt is not posted: "GR not found" error holds AP
```

## Use this when
- Invoice and PO agree on quantity and price.
- No goods receipt exists for the PO line and AP is on hold.
- The delivery date claimed by the vendor is in the past.

## Not for this skill when
- Nothing was delivered and the invoice is early billing. Park it; do not manufacture a receipt.
- The PO is a service PO with no goods receipt by design. It needs a service entry sheet or approval, not a GR.

## Steps
1. Ask receiving for delivery notes, carrier tracking, and any unposted or draft receipts for the PO. Verify: physical delivery is proven or ruled out from warehouse records
2. Search the ERP for receipts posted to the wrong PO, wrong line, or a duplicate PO for the same order. Verify: a misposted receipt would be found by this search
3. If delivery is proven, post the goods receipt referencing the delivery note number and actual receipt date. Verify: the GR appears on the PO line with the correct quantity
4. If no delivery exists, set the invoice to a parked or blocked status with the reason invoiced before receipt, and notify the vendor. Verify: the invoice cannot be paid until a GR posts
5. Rerun the three-way match. Verify: with a real GR the match clears, or the invoice stays parked with a clear reason code

## Variant phrasings
### goods receipt not posted invoice on hold AP
The unposted-receipt phrasing.
### GR not found error three way match
Searching by the exact hold message.

Compatibility: Goods receipt processing in SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, and Dynamics receiving and AP match.

## Why it happens
The goods receipt is a warehouse action with an accounting consequence, and the two teams work to different clocks. Deliveries get signed for, stacked, and entered in batches, while invoices arrive electronically the same day. The gap between physical receipt and system receipt is where GR not found lives. The match cannot distinguish received-but-unposted from never-arrived; only warehouse evidence can.

## Edge cases / pitfalls
- End-of-day receiving backlogs spike this error at month end. A same-day receipt entry SLA removes most occurrences.
- Receipts posted with the wrong date shift accruals between periods. Use the actual delivery date from the note, not the entry date.
- If receiving uses a separate warehouse system, check its sync queue before assuming the receipt was never entered.
