**Confirm the recipient role on the agreement.** Open the agreement in Adobe Sign and check the external recipient is listed as a signer, not an approver or a carbon-copy recipient. Expected: role shows signer; only signers can delegate signing.

**Check whether delegation was enabled when the agreement was sent.** Open the agreement details and review the send settings. Expected: delegation for external participants is either on (continue to step 3) or off (go to step 4).

**Have the signer delegate using the exact delegate address.** The signer opens the signing page, chooses the delegate option, and enters the delegate email address exactly as it should receive the agreement. Expected: Adobe Sign confirms the delegation and the agreement history records it.

**If delegation was off, cancel and resend.** Cancel the in-flight agreement and send a fresh copy with the option to let signers delegate enabled for external recipients. Expected: the new agreement shows the delegate option for the external signer.

**Verify the delegate can open the signing page.** Ask the delegate to open the signing link from the notification. Success check: the delegate reaches the signature fields and the agreement status shows the new signer.
