# Affinda has three regional APIs: use the base URL matching your account's region

## TL;DR

If your Affinda calls fail with auth or routing errors, check the region first. Use the base URL for your account's region: api.affinda.com (Australia/global), api.us1.affinda.com (US), or api.eu1.affinda.com (EU). A US account hitting the global endpoint will not work right.

Use this when you run into the situation in the title.

**When not to use this skill:** unrelated tasks. It covers only the procedure above.

## Compatibility

The steps above apply to the commands named in them. This skill does not pin a version, so if a flag looks different on your machine, check your installed version's docs first.

## Details

Authenticate with `your auth header on every request. And when you create the key in Settings -> API Keys, copy it immediately: it is shown exactly once and can never be retrieved again, only rotated.

Context: Official docs via community-verified skill reference (docs.affinda.com, regional API section): Affinda has three regional base URLs: https://api.affinda.com (Australia/global), https://api.us1.affinda.com (US), https://api.eu1.affinda.com (EU). You must use the base URL matching the region where the account was created. Auth is `your auth header keys are per-user, up to 3 per user, and visible only once at creation.
