Reader API 402 Payment Required means empty account balance, not rate limiting
A 402 from the Jina Reader API is about your account balance, not your rate limit or token usage. A fresh key at zero usage still 402s if the account has no balance behind it. Check your billing balance on the Jina dashboard and top it up. If you are on the free tier, note that free quotas get exhausted fast on large pages - retry the same URL after recharging and the identical request will go through.
Context: Issue jina-ai/reader#1192 (closed, 8 comments): users kept getting 402 Client Error - Payment Required from r.jina.ai even with a brand new API key at zero usage, well below their token limit. The error payload names it InsufficientBalanceError - account balance not enough to run this query, please recharge.Maintainer review
