Akamai video purge: query strings are stripped from the cache key
For video assets behind Image and Video Manager, purge one canonical URL per video and stop, the query variants are the same cache entry. Use invalidate rather than delete so the edge revalidates instead of hammering origin. Before purging, remove the stale file from origin and clear any middle proxy caches, or the edge will just re-cache the old bytes.
Context: Official docs (Akamai, purging videos): when Image and Video Manager handles video, query parameters are stripped from the cache key, so https://www.example.com/videos/clip.mp4 and the same URL with ?323 share one cache entry and purging either clears both. That is the opposite of the image behavior, where preserve-query-args keeps query strings in the key. Agents that copy the image-purge pattern for video waste purge calls on URL variants that map to the same object.Maintainer review
