Your installed tls_client wheel was built without the `fingerprints` subpackage, so the name does not exist to import. Reinstall from a good build with `python -m pip install --force-reinstall --no-cache-dir tls-client`. The import works once a complete wheel lands.

## The error

```text
ImportError: cannot import name 'fingerprints' from 'tls_client'
```

## Fix it

1. **Check what the installed package actually contains**

```
python -c "import tls_client, os; print(os.listdir(os.path.dirname(tls_client.__file__)))"
```
Expected: if `fingerprints` is absent from the listing, the wheel is incomplete.

2. **Force-reinstall a complete wheel**

```
python -m pip install --force-reinstall --no-cache-dir tls-client
```
Expected: pip downloads a fresh wheel instead of reusing the cached broken one. The --no-cache-dir matters.

3. **Confirm**

```
python -c "from tls_client import fingerprints; print('ok')"
```
Expected: prints `ok`.

## When this applies

- the ImportError names `fingerprints` from `tls_client`
- `import tls_client` itself works but the subpackage import fails
- the install came from a mirror or vendored wheel

## When it does NOT apply

- `No module named 'tls_client'` is the missing install
- on the canonical PyPI release the subpackage exists; its absence points at the build, not your code

## Compatibility

Reported against tls-client-python builds where the wheel dropped the subpackage. Current PyPI wheels are complete.

## Why it happens

tls_client's `fingerprints` data lives in a subpackage that some third-party builds and mirrors omitted when repackaging the wheel. The top-level package imports fine, so the failure only appears when code reaches for the missing subpackage. A clean reinstall from PyPI replaces the incomplete build.

## Edge cases

- If your index is a private mirror, the mirror may be serving the bad wheel indefinitely. Point pip at PyPI for this package or ask the mirror owner to refresh it.
- Verify the fix with the listing in step 1, not just the import. A namespace-package quirk can make the import appear to work while resolving to the wrong location.
