ImportError: cannot import name 'Auth0' from 'auth0.v3.management'
Explains why `from auth0.v3.management import Auth0` throws ImportError on auth0-python 4.x and how to fix it with the new `from auth0.management import Auth0` path. Use when Auth0 code breaks after upgrading to auth0 4. Not for `No module named 'auth0'`.
ImportError: cannot import name 'Auth0' from 'auth0.v3.management'
TL;DR: auth0-python 4.0 deleted the auth0.v3 namespace. Change the import to from auth0.management import Auth0 (drop the .v3) and it works.
ImportError: cannot import name 'Auth0' from 'auth0.v3.management'The fix
- Rewrite the imports, dropping
.v3:
from auth0.management import Auth0
from auth0.authentication import GetToken- Search the codebase for stragglers:
grep -rn "auth0.v3" --include="*.py" .Success check: zero hits.
- Verify:
python -c "from auth0.management import Auth0; print('ok')"Expected output: ok.

When this applies
- The import worked on auth0 3.x and broke after upgrading to 4.x.
- Codebases and tutorials written against auth0-python 3.x.
pip show auth0-pythonreports 4.0+.
When it does NOT apply
No module named 'auth0', which means auth0-python is not installed (pip install auth0-python).- You are on 3.x and the import works; stay or migrate deliberately.
Why this happens
The v3 namespace was a leftover from when the SDK supported multiple API versions side by side. For 4.0 the maintainers flattened it, deleting the old path outright. The client classes kept their names, so the migration is purely mechanical, which is why the loud ImportError is actually helpful.
Compatibility
auth0-python 4.x uses the flattened paths. The 3.x paths are gone, not deprecated.
