## The problem

Issue togethercomputer/together-python#187 (closed, 2 comments): The basic chat-completions example from docs.together.ai (from together import Together; client.chat.completions.create(model='meta-llama/Meta-Llama-3.1-8B-Instruct-Turbo', ...)) failed for one user while it worked for the maintainer.

Reporter sergejsrk confirmed: 'the issue has been resolved. It was related to using an outdated client-side library... (when using the latest client-side library) everything works correctly'.

## Rule of thumb

when Together examples fail while docs work, upgrade the together client first.
