Complete solution

When it applies

  • LinkSquares compare shows two versions as identical even though wording changed. - The change summary is empty for an agreement you know was redlined. - Highlights appear for some clauses but not for a clause that was edited.

Confirm both versions finished processing. Open each version and check its processing status is complete, not pending or failed. Expected: both versions show complete, with clause extraction finished.

Re-run the comparison instead of reopening a cached one. Start a fresh compare from the agreements list, picking the older version as the base and the newer version as the comparison. Expected: the compare loads with a new timestamp.

Check the highlight settings. In the compare view, turn on highlighting for insertions, deletions, and moved text, and set the view to show all changes, not only substantive changes. Expected: formatting-only filters no longer hide wording changes.

Open the specific clause that changed. Jump to the clause in both panes and confirm the wording actually differs in the extracted text, not only in the scanned image. Expected: the extracted text shows the difference; if it does not, the problem is extraction, not highlighting.

Re-process the newer version if extracted text matches the old one. Remove and re-add that version, wait for processing to complete, then compare again. Success check: changed wording is highlighted in both panes and the change summary lists the clause.

Problem query: how to fix LinkSquares clause error compare view fails to highlight changed wording fails error

TL;DR: The compare view usually fails to highlight because one of the two versions has not finished processing, or the comparison is running against a stale cached render. Re-open the comparison with both versions fully processed, confirm highlighting is turned on for insertions and deletions, and re-run the compare. If highlights still do not appear, re-upload or re-process the newer version before escalating.
