cb psql terminal goes fuzzy and breaks the REPL on PROMPT1

Running cb psql on version 3.4.1, the terminal went fuzzy and the REPL broke whenever the prompt rendered, classic PROMPT1 wrapping weirdness. I found that setting PROMPT1 to something simpler like \set PROMPT1 '(%n@%M:%>) %date +%H:%M:%S [%/] \n%x%# ' worked around it. The maintainer asked for the version and the reporter confirmed it was gone after updating to 3.5.1. Closed May 2024.

The fuzzy REPL was a rendering bug in cb psql 3.4.1, fixed in 3.5.1, so upgrading is the fix. If you need to stay on the old version, the workaround is to simplify your psql PROMPT1 so it renders on a single predictable line, the reporter used \set PROMPT1 '(%n@%M:%>) %date +%H:%M:%S [%/] \n%x%# '.
