VWO/Wingify FME .NET: pass a fallback to GetVariable
Complete solution
Use this when reading a feature variable with the VWO/Wingify FME .NET SDK.
The .NET GetVariable method takes a variable key and a fallback value. It returns the matching variable’s value, or the fallback when the key is absent. Choose a fallback that fits the consuming code and safe application behavior.
For example, flag.GetVariable("banner_text", "Welcome") uses "Welcome" when that flag has no banner_text variable. Check the absent-key case and a configured-key case in your installed SDK version. The checked method returns object; it does not validate that a configured value matches the fallback’s type. This method alone does not establish a fallback guarantee for every SDK or network failure.
Evidence
The official .NET SDK implementation at commit 4f7d040 declares GetVariable(string key, object defaultValue), returns the matched variable value and otherwise returns defaultValue. Its README shows the same two-argument call. This preserves the original .NET scope and removes the unsupported blanket outage guarantee.
